Gubernatorial candidate Sam Bregman visited the Los Alamos Daily Post this morning, speaking with Publisher Carol A. Clark about the importance of work being done at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, and research facilities at New Mexico Tech, UNM and more.
Bregman has extensive experience both as a public servant and an attorney, previously serving on the Albuquerque City Council before starting his own legal practice. He also served as the Deputy State Auditor for New Mexico and is the former Chair of the Crime Analysis and Policy Partnership for the Governor, and now serves as the Bernalillo County District Attorney.
This morning, he addressed the alarming escalation in serious juvenile crime, mentioning that his office has dealt with 77 murder cases committed by juveniles within three years, and the need to involve social and mental health services at the initial signs of delinquent behavior. Bregman also spoke about the problems facing the acequias and the importance of finding solutions.
Later this morning Bregman spoke with community members during a meet & greet event at Fuller Lodge, before heading down the hill to another meet & greet in Española, followed by another in Santa Fe.
