Gruninger: Betty Ehart Kitchen Renovations Completed … Grand Re-Opening Monday Oct. 30

By JACCI GRUNINGER
Executive Director
LARSO

Did you know that for the last nine months the Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization (LARSO) chefs have been making more than 175 lunches a day out of our White Rock Senior Activity Center kitchen? More than 80 of those meals are delivered to homebound seniors in both Los Alamos and White Rock. The rest are served to members and visitors in the White Rock Cafeteria or were part of a grab-n-go program while our Betty Ehart Kitchen has been under renovation.

We are excited to announce today that our renovations are now complete, and our Betty Ehart Chef, Stephen Jakob and Kitchen Assistant Keith Haynes will be moving back into our Betty Ehart kitchen this week. This is an exciting time for both gentlemen – who doesn’t love a brand spanking new kitchen? Many thanks to the County and the various contractors who helped to make this happen.

Members and non-members alike are welcome to join us for lunch any day (11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.). However, we’d like to invite our members and our community to join us for a grand re-opening 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 30.

Join us for lunch and cake and ice cream! Get a raffle ticket and enter to win a number of prizes from local businesses or free lunches from the Senior Center. And, listen to live Elvis tunes from Ken Hendricks of Home Instead.

Please be sure to call 505.662.8920 by 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30 to reserve your lunch.
