Vangie Mondragon celebrates her last day on the job Friday as a checker at Smith’s Marketplace. She worked 38 years in the grocery business, beginning her career with Safeway, which was purchased by Furrs and then Smith’s Food and Drug. At Friday’s celebration, Mondragon was honored for her service with flowers, cake and a brand new watch.
