Grider and Hughes Win Top Trophy for LAFD at Los Alamos Opera Guild Event

Top chef and Los Alamos Deputy Fire Chief Justin Grider, center, with assistance from Fire Chief Troy Hughes emerged the victors at Thursday’s ‘Thrill of the Grill’ Chicken Challenge at Overlook Park in a fierce competition against Los Alamos County Sheriff Marco Lucero and his assistant Sandy Lucero. The fire officials received a certificate and special trophy declaring them the 2013 chicken kings and the sheriff received a comical chicken hat. Lucero vowed to avenge his defeat July 4. 2014.
