Following a 1-1 tie with the Rio Rapids Fuerte the week before, the LAFC Green Pumas won 3-0 with great team-play versus the Corrales Chargers.

Abera Hettinga scored the first goal, easily tapping in a long cross delivered expertly from Stephen Boone. Goal two was cracked in hard and high by Lenny Svyatsky from an excellent delivery by Callum Mitchell. The final goal by Troy Makela was an astute clean-up off a hard rebound from just past the mid-line, catching the Chargers goalie off guard.

In their final match of the season, the Green Pumas tied the Duke City Stars 4-4 in a back and forth game. After an early Stars goal, the Pumas got their first from an off balance shot by Lenny Svyatsky midway into the first half. Minutes later the Stars struck again, but just before halftime Green Puma Wyatt Cionek astutely collected an errant goal kick from a defender and expertly poked the ball into the corner. Minutes later Dominic Dowdy weaved his way past two defenders for a beautiful easy touch-in leaving the Green Pumas up 3-2 at the half.

The Starz scored again in the second half and the Puma’s answered with a beautiful through ball from Abera Hettinga up the middle to Cionek who overpowered the goalie with his strike. The potential Green Pumas win evaporated when the Stars notched a final goal.

After moving up into the Challenge 1 bracket with a convincing 2-0 win against the Rio Rapids SC Bandits, the LAFC Boys U12 Galaxy competitive team ended the season with a 2-2 tie against the undefeated Northern Toros and a close 1-0 loss to the Classic Kodiaks. In the tie, Westley Parker scored two goals from Westley Parker with good all around play from the team. They will be ending their season at the Kohl’s Cup tournament in Bernalillo.
