Dr. Erin Bouquin
LAPSF News:
Great Conversations is an afternoon of delicious appetizers and desserts and an in-depth conversation with a subject area expert.
This is the 4th Annual Great Conversations hosted by the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation.
It will take place 2-5 p.m., April 28 at Los Alamos High School in the new building. This is the first in a series about the conversations that will take place.
“Be Patient; It’s Healthcare!” featuring Dr. Erin Bouquin.
Bouquin is currently the Chief Medical Officer for a multi-site medical office that concentrates on the Medical Home Model of Healthcare.
There, they have a team based health care delivery model led by a physician, P.A., or N.P. that provides comprehensive and continuous medical care to patients.
She will be discussing the question of whether or not the Patient-Centered Medical Home is the solution to what ails our country’s Healthcare system.
Some highlights of Bouquin’s discussion:
- Integrating the ideas of disease prevention and health promotion into all care.
- How could innovative technology play a role in the future?
- Access to healthcare and how does that currently look?
Bouquin has experience in private, hospital, and government-based practices, including recently serving as the Chief Medical Officer for the State of New Mexico.
Her particular areas of interest include resolving healthcare disparities, encouraging health related innovations and improving access to healthcare.
She strives to maintain close ties to community organizations, serving as a consultant in patient advocacy projects, as Vice President of the Con Alma Health Foundation Board, and a member of the Northern New Mexico Health Grant Group.
