Gold Mass At IHM In Honor Of Scientists Friday

Society Of Catholic Scientists News:

The Northern New Mexico Chapter of the Society of Catholic Scientists will host a Gold Mass in honor of scientists at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos.

Gold Masses bring together members of the scientific professions, but all are invited to attend.

The homilist at the Mass is Deacon Ray Alcouffe, retired Los Alamos National Laboratory scientist and Fellow of the American Nuclear Society.

Nov. 15 is the memorial of St. Albert the Great, who is the patron saint of scientists.

Following Mass, there will be a reception with dinner provided. Chad Meyer, O.P., LANL scientist and lay Dominican will present a talk on St. Albert the Great and the rich history of Catholic scientists.
