The 4th annual Piñon Elementary PTO Fun Run Saturday, March 21 was a great success.

The annual event promoted a morning of family fun, friendship and fitness for both the families at Piñon and the community. Runners and walkers of all abilities were welcomed to enjoy a fun, fast and scenic run benefiting Piñon School.

Folks had a great time running and walking the 1 mile and 5K as “Lucky” the Leprechaun (aka Brad Skidmore), LAPD Officers (Jordan Redmond, Adele Girmendonk aand James Keane), LAFD (Travis Williams and crew) and Piñon mascot “Elvis” the Panther added to the fun atmosphere.

Approximately 125 participated (plus kids in strollers.)

Special thanks to all of the sponsors: High Mesa Dental Arts, Metzgers, Smith’s, Time Out Pizza and Los Alamos National Bank. Additional thanks to Mrs. Hart at the finish line, the LAHS NJROTC members, Kevin Parkinson, and to the Piñon staff and fun run committee members who helped out volunteering their time.

It was truly a great opportunity to celebrate fitness, show our Panther Pride and raise funds for the PTO. To those who participated, thank you, we couldn’t have done it without you!
