The temporary closure of Mesa Public Library and the Friends’ Bookstore to install an HVAC system and all new LED lighting throughout has really changed the dynamics of visiting downtown Los Alamos, especially for the Bookstore volunteers.

“Friends of Los Alamos County Libraries (FLACL) appreciate that folks are holding their book and media donations until the reopening sometime in December, one volunteer said. “The Bookstore volunteers are all anxious to return so that FLACL can continue to provide our community patrons with books and media that they have come to expect as well as our grant to the county libraries derived from Friends’ Bookstore sales.”

There are positions on the board of FLACL available. For details about an opportunity to participate, call the Bookstore at 505.662.2188 and leave a message.
