ALCALDE – The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) has announced that a barn caught fire Friday evening at Los Luceros Historic Site.
While the cause of the fire is under investigation, no one was harmed, and the site’s beloved Churro sheep and goats were saved.
Los Luceros is a grand historical hacienda and home site on the Rio Grande River in the Española Valley near the village of Alcalde.
Los Luceros Historic Site will maintain its regular operations with the affected section of the site cordoned off to the public.
