Four New Brokers Join Zia Realty Group

By MANDY MARKSTEINER

Four new brokers have joined Zia Realty Group, which has become the fastest growing real estate company in Los Alamos.

Carrie Montoya-Pegg

Carrie Montoya-Pegg started working at Zia Realty one month ago, after completing her real estate certification at Kaplan University in Albuquerque. For Pegg, the process of becoming a broker began last February. She took three classes for two months and passed a state and national test.

“I know David Horpedahl from Los Alamos Properties, and had been planning to work for them before they merged with Zia Realty Group, so I decided to work for Zia instead, and it turned out to be a great fit for me,” Montoya-Pegg said. “I know a lot of the brokers there. It’s great that there are so many people there with 20-30 years of experience who are always willing to answer my questions.”

Montoya-Pegg and her husband, Kent Pegg, own the Los Alamos Fitness Center, and she worked there for seven years. She also has worked at Los Alamos National Bank and at Los Alamos National Laboratory. She said that she she is very excited about where her career is headed.

“I love the challenge,” Montoya-Pegg said. “Every transaction is different. You’re always learning.”

Montoya-Pegg grew up in Pojoaque and never hesitates to go off the hill. She is especially interested in working with people who are buying and selling properties in rural areas. Montoya-Pegg can be reached at (505) 500-1234.

Sarah Cook

Sarah Cook joined the new Santa Fe branch of Zia Realty Group at 433 Paseo de Peralta three months ago. Prior to that, she sold real estate in Santa Fe for 11 years.

Cook is a retired lawyer and, although she cannot give legal advice since she no longer practices law, she brings a wealth of experience into every transaction. She works well with attorneys during estate, probate and contractual matters.

“I like that Zia Realty Group is a small firm and there is more accountability. I am able to give my clients my full attention,” Cook said.

Cook can be reached at (505) 690-2400.

Brock Salazar

Brock Salazar has been a real estate agent for four years. He has a background as a mortgage broker and an insurance agent and is currently pursuing his MBA. He grew up in Española and is deeply familiar with the area north of Santa Fe. He is focused on helping first time homebuyers navigate the financing process and get set up to succeed.

“I like the teamwork at Zia Realty Group,” Salazar said. “Everyone works together to get what’s best for the client.”

Salazar can be reached at (575) 517 0316.

Charlie Khan has had his real estate license for four years, and joined Zia Realty Group at its Santa Fe office two weeks ago. He values customer service and listening, and strives to make sure that the customer gets what he or she asks for. He said that he is excited to work with James Chrobocinski, owner and qualifying broker of Zia Realty Group.

“I like his track record and what he’s accomplished in Los Alamos in such a short amount of time,” Khan said. “I can see someone like James breaking into the market.”

Khan is among the top 10 professional squash players in the United States and came from a prominent squash family. The Khan Squash Dynasty holds the record for having the most championship titles held by a family in any sport. Khan can be reached at reversecorner@yahoo.com or (505) 500-6235
