WATROUS: The Dineh Tah’ Navajo Cultural Program and Fort Union National Monument announce a special event day of presentations and performances on Saturday, June 6.
This event is part of the continued reconciliation process between the two nations, and visitors are asked to please respect that photography and videography may be limited during portions of these special programs.
Each presentation is 45-minutes long with shaded seating available.
- 11 a.m. – “William T. Sherman: War Maker/Peacemaker” by Tribal Historian Shawn Price;
- 1:30 p.m. – Performances of traditional Navajo dances, songs and narration; and
- 2:30 p.m. – Hozhoji “Blessingway” prayer and Treaty Fabric distribution.
Fort Union National Monument is west of Watrous. Take exit 366 off I-25 and follow N.M. 161 eight miles west to the Monument. For more information, visit www.nps.gov/foun.
