Fort Union National Monument Closed Due To Area Fires

NPS News:

WATROUS – The National Park Service has announced that Fort Union National Monument is closed today and Monday, due to fire activity in the area and heavy smoke from those fires.

Road closures surrounding the park and the uncertainty of evacuations in surrounding areas will make access to the park difficult for park staff as well as the public; therefore, park management has made the decision to not open the park to the public for the next two days.

Conditions will be re-assessed Monday and decisions made moving forward based on current conditions.

For information on the park, visit www.nps.gov/foun.
