Staff Report

A spokesperson for the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has confirmed to the Los Alamos Daily Post this afternoon that Diane Albert (former Los Alamos County Councilor and LANL employee) is the victim of what is believed to be a murder-suicide in her residence Friday afternoon in Albuquerque.

A friend of the decedents contacted deputies after receiving a troubling message from Albert’s husband Eric Pinkerton, according to BCSO. Upon arrival, deputies located the decedents, Albert, 65, and Pinkerton, 63, inside the residence along with several dead animals.

Pinkerton is believed to have shot his wife and several animals in the house before shooting himself.

Albert served on the Los Alamos County Council January 2001 to January 2004.
