This is the time of year where you might overhear a conversation at Starbucks, or in passing at Ashley Pond, with residents gloating about what has become the ‘Best Free Summer Concert Series in the State’ since Sancre Productions took the series to the next level in 2019.

Over the last several weeks the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series has sneak peaked their 2023 line-up on Facebook and Instagram, making those on social media the people in the know and the drivers of such real-life chatter in the deli section of Smiths or over a beer at The Boese Brothers. Now it’s time to let the rest of the world know the 2023 Lineup for the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series Presented by Toyota of Santa Fe.

All shows start at 6 p.m. with opening acts featuring local bands and youth performers. This year, opening acts will even include three talent showcases featuring amateur artists.  The Headliner typically comes on at 8 p.m. and the park shuts down at 10 p.m. There are fantastic food vending options, activities for all ages, and Ashley Pond is one of the most beautiful places in the state to watch a FREE summer concert with family and friends on a blanket on the greenscape.

The 2023 Los Alamos Summer Concert Series, presented by Toyota of Santa Fe, and produced by Sancre Productions and Los Alamos County Community Services proudly brings you:

Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters on May 26 – Opening Night

The highlight of the 2023 Series comes early in the season when Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters bring thousands of people to the pond for what will surely be one of the most well attended shows of the year with opening band DK and the Affordables. Formed in 2007 in California, The Boxmasters have recorded an impressive and diverse catalogue of music that touches on their love of a wide array of influences, but most importantly, the rock and roll of the 1960’s. Listening to The Boxmasters, one can hear obvious odes to the Beatles, Byrds and Beach Boys, but also important to The Boxmasters are The Mothers of Invention, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine and Big Star. The primary songwriters and core of the band has always been AJ Andrews and Billy Bob Thornton who constantly strive to find new inspiration, new sounds and new ways of expressing what is in their hearts and on their minds. The Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters concert is sponsored by: Longenecker & Associates, SMSI, Merrick & Co., TechSource and the Pueblo Alliance.

Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts on June 30

Ryan Chrys and band were last here in the Covid shortened 2021 season, but even with the Pandemic winding down they totally rocked the Pond so the LASCS had to bring them back, along with opener the Los Alamos Community Winds and an Amateur NM Country Talent Showcase!

Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts bring forth new energy to music fans who love the heroes and outlaws of old. Influenced by the songs and personalities of legends like Waylon and Willie, they drive their sound with blazing guitars and a rock n roll attitude. The band pays respect toclassic styles, but anyone can tell from their overdriven sound that they’re far fromtraditionalists. Recommended for lovers of both classic country and 70’s rock n roll.
