Anna Dillane, owner of Boomerang and mainstay of Los Alamos Social Club Meetup Group will host two events with Valentine’s Day themes.

“I’m exited about these events,” Dillane said. “I’d love to see more people join us at our events. The club is for everyone, not just for singles. I know there are lots of new people in town wondering, ‘How do I meet the great people I know are here?’.

The first event is the First Anniversary Celebration of Muy Salsas Saturday, Feb. 11 at their restaurant at 1315 Trinity Dr. with a Valentine themed party.

Be ready to dance, sing, do silly competitions/games and have a fabulous time with drinks and snacks, Dillane said. There also will be love tarot readings available.

Have you heard of a Traffic Light party? It’s a fun spin to speed dating and/or meeting new people mixer. If you are “single and ready to mingle” you’ll receive a green rose to wear.

If you are not ready to date, but you are open to meeting new friends, you’ll get a yellow/orange rose. If you are already in good company and coupled up, you will wear a red rose.

Those who are part of the Los Alamos Social Club should RSVP to the club. Everyone else is welcome with no need to RSVP. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The second event is Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Senor Tortas Valentine’s Day Dinner. The Social Club will join other diners at this special dinner. The event will take place 5-7 p.m. at 1325 Trinity (behind Muy Salsas in the Legion).

“The restaurant is doing a special dinner and music by The Latin Lovers,” Dillane said. “There will be three special meals available for around $30 each. There will be a salad and dessert bar with each meal. The regular menu will not be available during the special event. He showed me the decorations that he bought last night and he went to town!”

Both of these events are all inclusive — singles, young and old, gay and straight and anywhere in between any of these spectrums, she said. The goal of these events is always to get out and make new friends and have a good time. There is no expectation of meeting someone to date, it’s just an opportunity to get out and have fun.

Don’t worry if you’re coming alone … “If people want to join my table, they are most welcome. Come over to Boomerang (1247 Suite A, Central Ave.) if you want to meet me first!” Dillane said.
