Albuquerque Business First has selected President Liddie Martinez of the Los Alamos Region for Enterprise Bank & Trust as one of the 21st annual “Women of Influence” in New Mexico.

Martinez also serves as Director of Community Engagement for Enterprise Bank & Trust. As a member of the bank’s New Mexico Leadership Team, Martinez has helped grow the southwest region of the company by 17% since its merger with Los Alamos National Bank in 2019. Her market share in Los Alamos is 74.74%.

To have influence is to have the power to effect change, Albuquerque Business First stated. For the past 21 years, Albuquerque Business First has recognized those positive change agents via its “Women of Influence” Awards. These individuals not only excel in their careers but also in uplifting their communities.

Enterprise Bank & Trust President Scott Goodman addressed the selection of Martinez among the 2025 “Women of Influence”.

“We are proud of everything Liddie does for the Los Alamos community, and beyond,” Goodman said. “She is such a wonderful ambassador for Enterprise’s commitment to New Mexico.”

Think New Mexico nominated Martinez for the statewide award, saying Enterprise Bank & Trust has always been a focused corporate citizen but under Liddie’s leadership, the organization has invested more than $2 million in Central and Northern New Mexico during the last four years with $733,000 directly invested in the Los Alamos Market where she is Market President.

“Her career has always focused on leading regional investment in non-profit organizations that support the social fabric of rural communities,” Think New Mexico Founder and Executive Director Fred Nathan, Jr. said. “In her prior position as Director of Community and Economic Development for the largest subcontractor at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Liddie led the LANL Major Subcontractors Consortium for 10 years organizing the lab’s major subcontractors to collectively invest more than $23 million across the seven northern counties of New Mexico. Program investments included design and initial construction of the Santa Fe Farmers’ Market, Renovation of The Española Fiber Arts Center and development of their online store, Acequia Head Gate construction for the community of Truchas, Commercial Kitchen equipment for Commercial Kitchens in Taos and Española, Start-up support for ReUnity Resources and equipment purchases for a charcoal production operation in Picuris Pueblo.

Appointed by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham to serve on the New Mexico Economic Recovery Council, her duties included chairing the Economic Relief Committee and advising her on strategies for gradually reopening New Mexico following the COVID public health emergency.

New Mexico State Sen. Leo Jaramillo congratulated Martinez on her prestigious award.

“Liddie Martinez, you truly are a ‘Woman of Influence’ and the embodiment of female empowerment! Your leadership continues to inspire New Mexicans, like myself, to pursue our dreams and achieve our full potential,” Sen. Jaramillo said. “Congratulations on this well-deserved honor!”

Martinez is an advocate for diversity, economic development and historic and cultural preservation. She testified before congress in 1998 to secure federal funding for the feasibility study and eventual development and establishment of El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro National Historic Trail, a 10-year project serving as President of the Board for all 10 years and linking 55 historic sites across two nations and 1,600 miles to establish programming and interpretation.

“I am so honored to be counted among the amazing women being honored in this year’s cohort of Women of Influence,” Martinez said. “I love northern New Mexico and feel privileged to have served my communities for so many years.”

Martinez serves on the Board of Directors for Think New Mexico, the Santa Fe Opera and United Way of Northern New Mexico, logging more than 400 hours of volunteer service every year. Passionate about cultural preservation, Martinez published a cookbook in 2019, The Chile Line: Historic Northern New Mexican Recipes, receiving the Eric Hoffer National Book Award, the New Mexico-Arizona Book Association Award and the Southwest Book Design and Production Award. Martinez also writes a monthly food column in the Los Alamos Daily Post providing recipes and video demonstrations for traditional New Mexican Dishes free online.

Martinez was born and raised in the Española Valley where she continues to reside today with her husband Rick Martinez on their family farm.
