Five County Council Candidates Head Into General Election

The unofficial results of Tuesday’s 2020 Primary Election show 8,161 votes cast for candidates vying to fill one of three available seats on the Los Alamos County Council.

Four Democrats, one Republican and one Libertarian were on the ballot. Voters chose five of those six candidates to compete in the Nov. 3 General Election.

Voters chose the following Democratic candidates:

Denise Derkacs (Dem) received 2,819 votes, (34.54%)

 

 

 

 

 

Sean Jameson Williams (Dem) received 2,313 votes (28.34%)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rodney Gerode Roberson received 1,800 votes (22.06%)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Editor’s note: Democratic candidate Greg White did not receive enough votes to stay in the race.

Voters chose the following Republican candidate:

David W. Reagor running unopposed received 1,604 votes.

 

 

 

 

 

Voters chose the following Libertarian candidate:

James E. Rickman running unopposed received 53 votes.
