COUNTY News:
The 2020 property tax bills were mailed the last week of October.
The first half of taxes will become delinquent after Thursday, Dec. 10. Payment must be made in person by 4 p.m. Dec. 10, postmarked by midnight of Dec. 10, or made online by 3 p.m. that same day to avoid late payment penalty and interest charges.
The Customer Care Center is open for in-person service 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, Monday through Friday inside in the Municipal Building lobby at 1000 Central Ave., Suite 130.
In an effort to provide more COVID-19 safe contactless options, the County will be implementing an online “epay” option. Signing up is optional, and an additional service fee will be assessed to the taxpayer at the time of the transaction. Credit cards will be assessed 2.5% of the total payment amount and can process multiple bills in one transaction. Electronic checks also will be accepted and range in fees from $1.75 for transactions of $0-$50,000 up to $15 for transactions over $150,000. Instructions on how to sign up will go out with property tax bills.
Because of the COVID-19 emergency, property owners are strongly encouraged to either place payment envelopes in the drop box in the parking lot of the Municipal Building, or in the drop box in the Municipal Building lobby.
Alternatively, payments can be mailed to P.O. Box 99, Los Alamos, NM 87544, or delivered to a teller through the drive through service at the Los Alamos or White Rock branches of Enterprise Bank & Trust. Also, taxpayers now have the option to enroll at enoticesonline.com and pay electronically with an added service fee.
