LAPS News:
On the first day of school, Barranca Elementary will be opening the doors to a new two-story building.
The project is on budget and is especially designed for the school’s project-based learning.
The new rooms include up-to-date technology to enhance the learning process.
The two-story building includes a new lobby which gives the school a single point of entry for enhanced security. Part of the remodeling process includes installing life safety upgrades such as a fire sprinkler system campus wide, a fire alarm and an intrusion alarm.
Thanks to Los Alamos taxpayers, this project is being completed with $12 million in bond funds as well as the $8.8 million LAPS was awarded from the Public School Capital Outlay Council.
