Chuck Mead & His Grassy Knoll Boys will play Ashley Pond at 7 p.m. today. The weather should be dry and warmer so come on out for a classy night of dancin’ and romancin’ to what is one of the top bands in country, alt-country and rockabilly in the WORLD!

I swear that’s the truth. check him out on youtube and his website. Chuck was the founder, lead guitarist and vocalist for the band, BR549. Check them out, also. We’ve had a whole of great musicians perform in Los Alamos this summer, yet, Chuck’s show may be the best of 2016. We’re ending the Series with a knockout show. Again, thanks to our sponsors (please check them out at www.russ@gordonssummerconcerts.com).

If you like ’50’s and ’60s rock and/or classic country like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Lefty Frizell, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Merle Travis,Ray Price,Roy Acuff, Carl Perkins, Hank Snow, Red Foley and other ground breaking musicians and singers.

Chuck’s music can also be called “Red Dirt Country Music.” This relatively new genre seems to be described best as the music from around Stillwater, Ok and country rebels from Texas It’s country music, folksy, bluesy and rock. Cody Canada of Cross Canadien Ragweed says “It’s blue collar country.”

I’ve been in the music business for over 30 years. I’ve heard many, many people say they don’t like country except for some of the old classics. This is your chance to see a great band with that sound LIVE and it’s another FREE Concert at Ashley Pond.
