¡Fiesta Primavera! A recital of Spanish Dance and Music is Coming to Town

Prepare to immerse yourself in the beauty and passion of flamenco music and dance in the historic beauty of Fuller Lodge at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14 as the Pajarito Spanish Dance Alliance presents its annual recital, ¡Fiesta Primavera!.

This year’s subtitle, “¡Qué Alegría!” reflects the joy of living life through song. 

The company is directed by Ellen Walton and includes artists from the larger Northern New Mexico area. Singer “La Megue” and guitarists Ronaldo Baca and Kevin Rendón will join Ellen and her students, Opale Schappert, Chris Jeffrey, Amanda Swenson, Cecile Hemez, Zoe Hemez and Howard Coe on a colorful tour of Andalusian songs and dances.

Catalina Rio Fernandez will offer a taste of the African and Cuban rhythms of Guajira with her own Flamenco Nuevo Mexico company members Angela Quintana, Dante Raphael Allegro and Mario Reynolds. 

A reception will follow the hour-long program.

Admission price is a suggested donation of $5 for adults and $3 for children six and under.

The Pajarito Spanish Dance Alliance is incorporating as a 501(c) 3 non-profit, which will bring together artists and students from Northern New Mexico to learn, teach and perform the art of Flamenco and all Spanish dance and song.
