FBI News:
ALBUQUERQUE — Alexander M.M. Uballez, United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, and Raul Bujanda, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, announced Thursday that Gerald Lee pled guilty to sexual abuse of a minor.
Lee, 37, of Tse Bonito, and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, will remain in custody pending sentencing, which has not been scheduled.
According to court documents, May 15, 2021, Lee raped the victim, Jane Doe, who was 15 years old at the time, at his mother’s house within the exterior boundaries of the Navajo Nation.
Lee faces up to 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.
The Gallup Resident Agency of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office and the Navajo Police Department investigated this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kimberly Bell is prosecuting the case.
