FBI: Mescalero Man Faces Federal Assault Charge

FBI News:

Josea M. Kazhe, 19, of Mescalero on the Mescalero Apache Reservation has been charged in connection with an alleged assault with a chainsaw that occurred Dec. 24, 2019.

The FBI and U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs arrested Kazhe March 3 in Mescalero.

Kazhe is charged federally with assault resulting in serious bodily injury. He had an initial appearance Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Las Cruces.

The FBI and BIA are investigating.

Charges in criminal complaints are only accusations. The public is reminded that all defendants are considered innocent unless convicted in a court of law.

The FBI does not release mugshots of defendants.
