FBI: Man Charged With Bank Robbery, Other Federal Crimes Including Interference With Interstate Commerce By Threats Or Violence

The FBI has charged Andres Otero in a federal criminal complaint with the Oct. 30, robbery of an Albuquerque bank and other federal crimes.
 
Otero, 61, with addresses in Moriarty and Albuquerque, is charged with bank robbery, interference with interstate commerce by threats or violence, possessing a firearm during a crime of violence, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
 
Otero, who was arrested by the Albuquerque Police Department Nov. 1, on an active arrest warrant out of Texas for violating his parole, is accused of robbing Washington Federal at 300 Eubank Blvd. NE.
 
He also is charged with the robberies of two other Albuquerque businesses, a Waffle House and a Dollar General store.
 
Otero was expected to have an initial appearance Monday in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque.
 
The public is reminded that all defendants are presumed innocent unless convicted in a court of law.
