Saddie lost her life this week and is being remembered by her owner who described her as a ‘wonderful companion for adventure’ during the 15 years, 7 months and 7 days they spent together. Courtesy photo

Rain on a Tuesday
As the ivy loops upon my stoop,
What can I say now that you’ve gone away
For in the noon, we sang a tune, and danced with joy, the month of June
Now all that’s gone, seems much too soon
And as I sit here in my gloom, I’m left to ponder, as I hear the thunder
And left alone, my memories wander
My happy days, now in the past
My Saddie girl, it couldn’t last
The highs and lows, you saw it all
And licked my tears and waged your tail
And if the sea I’d set to sail,
-you’re with me always
-steadfast and true
A loyal lady
A mighty friend
Oh, how can I make it, until the end
My house is silent, but I see you still
And my tears are falling, my darling dear
Now only the memories, but I feel you near
And I remember, you licked my tears
The trails we walked, are lonely now
And I pass them by, without a sound
-with only the memory, of my now gone hound
It was raining on a Tuesday
When we said
Good-Bye
