Family Strengths Network Offering Free Parenting Classes

FSN News:

Family Strengths Network (FSN) is offering three free parenting classes beginning in January and February. All three of these classes will be facilitated by Brandi Seekins, LMSW.

Parenting Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.)

  • P.E.T. is an effective method of parenting and communicating with children that has helped millions of parents since 1962. In this class, you will learn how to talk to children so they will listen to you, how to listen so they feel genuinely understood, and how to resolve conflicts in problems in your family.
  • For parents/caregivers of toddlers through teens. Snacks provided.
  • 5-8 p.m., Thursdays, Jan. 23-March 13
    FSN (3540 Orange St.)
    Sponsored by JJAB

Parents & Preschoolers

  • A parent-child bonding class that aligns with Circle of Security and provides lessons to support attachment, attunement, and the foundation of the Circle. The class is designed for a parent/caregiver and their child age 1-4yrs old to attend together.
  • 9:30-10:30 a.m., Tuesdays, Feb. 4-25
    FSN (3540 Orange St.)

Circle of Security

  • This program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. Learn how to protect and nurture babies through teens while fostering their independence, and what emotional needs a child may be expressing with difficult behavior.
  • 12-1 p.m., Thursdays, Feb. 6- March 13
    Via ZOOM

Registration is required for all three classes and can be done through lafsn.org/classes, or by scanning the QR code in the image.
