LA MAINSTREET  News:

The Los Alamos Fair & Rodeo is coming up at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 11 along Central Avenue!

If your business/organization would like to to enter, register (for free) by Aug. 3 here.

In the past there hasn’t been a significant representation from the business community, as it has primarily attracted nonprofits, but it would be great to see more representation from around Los Alamos so consider joining the event this year.

Keep in mind that the theme this year is “Back to Your Roots” and all entrants are asked to follow the theme as there will be judging involved.

The intent with the theme is to harken back to the good old days of the Wild West. Think of things that you did as a kid, or things you did historically in New Mexico. It’s pretty wide open to interpretation. It can be as elaborate as how the homesteaders would have functioned in Los Alamos, or as simple as remembering things you did as a kid, like stick-horse races and pie-eating contests (which the County will actually have at the Rodeo this year)!

You can simply ask, “What does it mean to you, to go back to your roots?”

Thank You for a Successful Los Alamos ScienceFest 2018!

Los Alamos ScienceFest took place from July 11-15 this year. If you missed it, check out this recap.

If you have any feedback (positive or negative) about how this year’s ScienceFest impacted your business or organization, we’d love to hear your input – as well as suggestions!

This was the first year we initiated a Business Specials Flyer to promote science-themed gifts, food and libations around town. We plan to do this again next year, so please reach out to lauren@losalamos.org if you’re interested in participating.
As always, you can follow our Facebook page or website at www.LosAlamosScienceFest.com for information about next year’s event.
