NMDCA News:
Listen to the written accounts of explorers from the 1540–1542 Coronado Expedition as they encountered the Pueblo World at lecture co-hosted by Coronado Historic Site and the Sandoval County Historical Society.
Using translated accounts, Coronado Historic Site’s Ranger Joseph Tackes will give a free PowerPoint presentation comparing the first written descriptions of the geography, architecture, and agriculture of the Pueblo World with what is known from continued, as well as past, archaeological finds in the greater region.
This lecture, 2-3 p.m., May 3 at the Sandoval County Historical Society, is part of a new partnership with the Sandoval County Historical Society and shares history of the region that ties to the historic site. Visitors will have a chance to ask questions about what is known about Pueblo life at the time the first Europeans arrived in the Rio Grande Valley.
