PEEC News:

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) invites the community to take to the skies without ever leaving their seat! From 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 25, the Los Alamos Nature Center Planetarium will host New Mexico from the Air, a special film program that reveals the state’s dramatic landscapes from a pilot’s-eye view.

This unique planetarium experience showcases sweeping aerial footage captured from a motorized hang glider or “trike”, offering a fresh perspective on New Mexico’s canyons, mesas, and geological wonders, as well as other Southwest landscapes.

The film is presented in partnership with the Northern New Mexico chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association (http://eaachapter691.org) and features the work of Jeff Gilkey, who will guide audiences through the story behind the footage. Gilkey will share insights into the filming process, the aircraft used, and the remarkable features of the terrain that are best appreciated from above.
