LAPD News:

Los Alamos County Animal Control has received multiple calls and concerns regarding “Edna” the goose at Ashely Pond displaying abnormal behavior and being fed a poor diet.

The goose was picked up by animal control and placed in safe keeping for an assessment. Dr. Kathleen Ramsey visited “Edna” and concluded after conducting a physical examination that she is in fact an “Ed”.

“We are working on finding a proper mate for him to help assure “Ed” its age, gender and temperament will be accepted by,” Cmdr. Preston Ballew said today. “He is in overall good health and will return to Ashley Pond soon if a mate can be found. If not, Ed will be sent to a sanctuary or rescue facility.”

Cmdr. Preston Ballew asks the public to remember that Ed’s diet is very important to his overall health and many things are toxic or unhealthy for him to consume. Bread, popcorn and French fries should not be fed to “Ed” or the other animals at the pond.”

Anyone possessing a potential mate for Ed is asked to contact Los Alamos Animal Control at 505.662.8179 so Dr. Ramsey can assess the goose prior to placement.
