Does your dog have the cutest smile? Is your cat a master of dramatic poses? Maybe your lizard rocks a mean top hat. However your pet steals the show, now’s their moment to shine. 

Española Humane, in collaboration with 2024 Miss New Mexico Karen Dodier, is proud to present Northern New Mexico’s first-ever Pet Pageant—a fun, photo-driven contest where pets take the spotlight, all in support of animals in need.

Entering is simple: upload a favorite photo of your pet—one that shows off their charm, talent, or personality—and then encourage friends and family to vote. Each vote helps fund Española Humane’s lifesaving programs, giving shelter animals a better chance at love and home. 

“We are thrilled to launch the Pet Pageant, a fun-filled event that celebrates the bond between pets and their owners while supporting our lifesaving work at Española Humane,” said Kate Baldwin, executive director at Española Humane.

Winners won’t just walk away with bragging rights. They’ll score more than $1,000 in prize packages, including items from Teca Tu and Shine Pet Food Co., pet grooming session from Dakine Dog , and passes to Sky Railway, Violet Crown, and Meow Wolf Santa Fe. 

“This event is all about celebrating the joy pets bring into our lives,” Dodier said. “It’s a fun way for the community to show off their beloved companions while supporting a shelter that does incredible work.”
