ALBUQUERQUE — The United States District Court for the District of New Mexico announces the appointment of Erik Paltrow as the District’s Clerk of Court effective May 18, 2026. The appointment is located in Albuquerque, NM.
In this role, Erik is responsible for managing the administrative activities of the Clerk’s Office and overseeing the performance of the statutory duties of this office. The basic authority of the Clerk of Court is specified in 28 U.S.C. § 751. As the Court Unit Executive for the District Court, the Clerk of Court is appointed by the judges of the court in which he or she serves.
Erik brings to our Court more than 20 years of state and federal court supervisory and senior management experience in Arizona and Texas. Most recently, he served as the West Texas Division Manager for the Northern District of Texas where he has provided managerial oversight and judicial support for the Abilene, Amarillo, Lubbock, and San Angelo Divisions and supervision of Deputies-in-Charge and all clerk’s office personnel.
Erik’s professional experience and deep institutional knowledge are complemented by a strong foundation in management education. This includes a master’s degree in public administration with a focus in public management, a Judicial Administration Certification from the Michigan State University School of Criminal Justice, and completion of the Federal Judicial Center’s Federal Court Leadership Program. He is also a lifetime member of the Federal Court Clerk’s Association and serves as an FCCA Career Guidance Program Mentor.
Erik’s extensive background, commitment to excellence, and dedication to public service make him a good fit for the Clerk of Court position.
