Installation of an underground water pipeline, fiber optic conduit and electrical conduit along Camp May Road to Pajarito Mountain Ski Area would have no significant environmental impact, according to an environmental assessment performed by the NNSA Los Alamos Field Office and the Santa Fe National Forest.
Each agency has independently prepared a decision document of a Finding on No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the Proposed Action.

SANTA FE – The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) will implement a forest wide closure order at 8 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022, prohibiting public access across the entire 1.6-million-acre forest due to active wildfires and extreme fire danger. The Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration’s Los Alamos Field Office (DOE/NNSA) has issued a Categorical Exclusion for Domestic Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Campaigns-Eastern Pacific Cloud Aerosol Precipitation Experiment (EPCAPE).

A panoramic view of the smoke plume from the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon combined fire taken Sunday near Overlook Park in White Rock. As of today, the fire has burned 298,060 acres, making it the largest wildfire in New Mexico history. Some 2,015 personnel are on site battling the blaze, which is 27 percent contained.
