Lead Teller Valeria Williams is set to retire Dec. 31 after serving customers for 18 years at Enterprise Bank & Trust in Los Alamos and White Rock.

“My most vivid memory of these years is my customers,” Williams said during an interview Tuesday. “I’ve grown so close to them and even cry when they pass away. What I will miss most when I retire are my customers and my colleagues who have been so nice and very supportive through the years.”

Liddie Martinez, President – Los Alamos Region and Director of Community Engagement for Enterprise Bank & Trust, spoke of Williams saying, “Valeria will be missed by both her colleagues and her customers. She has been a valued member of our Los Alamos Market Team and an amazing example of delivering impeccable customer service every time. We will miss her smile and can-do attitude.”

White Rock Branch Manager Santana Lopez describes Williams as “a great role model” and encourages customers to stop by to see her before she retires.

“Val Williams has brought a loving and caring touch to the bank,” Lopez said. “The White Rock community knows her well and love to have her help them with their banking needs. She listens and tends to their needs with tenderness and kindness, and we all love her for that. She has been reliable and a great role model for all of us. Please come by the White Rock branch to help us in celebrating her retirement!”

William’s husband, retired Los Alamos Police Detective DeWayne Williams spoke about his wife’s upcoming retirement.

“I would just like to say congratulations to Valeria,” he said. “I know she will miss the interaction with her regular customers. She has developed a special business relationship with many people in town who I am sure will be sad to see her leave. Throughout all of her working years Valeria has maintained her dedication to the job while raising our two boys, putting up with me and dealing with some serious medical challenges. I certainly believe she has earned the right to now take some time for herself.”

Williams began her career as a Call Center Representative in 2006 with Los Alamos National Bank before it became Enterprise Bank & Trust in 2018.

In her role as a Call Center Representative, Williams assisted customers over the phone with their needs. She went on to work in Loan Servicing and later as a Financial Service Representative. In that role Williams opened accounts, closed accounts, handled CDs, ordered debit cards, issued cashier’s checks and money orders, and assisted with safe deposit boxes and notary services.

As Lead Teller at the White Rock Branch, Williams processed deposits, withdrawals, cashier’s checks, money orders, wire transfers and foreign currency. She also ordered debit cards, handled fraud reports, closed accounts, processed image reports and assisted customers with safe deposit boxes.

Williams said that in her retirement she is looking forward to really enjoying life, traveling with her husband and spending time with their children and grandchildren. She added that she and her husband intend to continue residing in town.
