Many people in town know that one of the best places to shop is the LAMC Lobby Shop. The shop has a very extensive inventory.
My motto is if you haven’t found anything to buy you haven’t looked hard enough. But what many do not realize is that the auxiliary is a tax-exempt charitable organization. This means not only do you get bargains, all the money raised is used to benefit our community.
The three main beneficiaries are:
- Scholarships for high school students;
- Scholarships for hospital staff to continue their education; and
- Medical assistance for the underinsured.
We can provide up to $1,000 for persons who qualify for assistance with their medical bills. The care must have been received at LAMC and you must have received the actual bill for services. We have applications at the Lobby Shop, in the door of the auxiliary office in the basement and you can inquire in the ER for a representative of MEDDATA.
We hope that this will be helpful in understanding what the monies made in the Lobby Shop are used for. You will save on sales tax and benefit the Los Alamos community.
