Secretary of Energy Rick Perry
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Secretary of Energy Rick Perry will visit Los Alamos National Laboratory Wednesday, where the nation’s nuclear weapons program began during World War II as part of the Manhattan project.
During the visit, Secretary Perry will receive briefings on the Laboratory’s extensive capabilities in support of national security, nuclear deterrence, stockpile stewardship, and nuclear non-proliferation. He also will tour the Laboratory’s nuclear weapons and global security facilities and meet with LANL Director Charlie McMillan as well as experts on the ground.
As part of the tour, Secretary Perry also will speak to Laboratory employees.
