Los Luceros Historic Site hosts its Dawn ‘Til Dusk Day on the first Sunday of each month, offering visitors a full day of exploration, nature, and culture.

Enjoy the cool morning and evening breezes during extended Dawn ‘Til Dusk hours at Los Luceros. Take a guided bird walk with staff from the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) at 7 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 3. Sign-up ahead of time online at https://peecnature.org/events/details/?id=57544.

At 1 p.m. Interpretive Ranger Kara will offer Read with a Ranger story time, reading the children’s book “Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem” by Amanda Gorman followed by a craft activity.

At 1:30 p.m. Instructional Coordinator Supervisor Rebecca Ward will lead a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) program exploring math through fractals for children 10 and older. Visitors can also explore the nature trails, wildlife, and farm animals.

Los Luceros offers a unique opportunity for people to explore and enjoy the site from dawn until dusk on the first Sunday of each month. Entrance is free for New Mexico residents with ID. Regular admission for non-residents is $7/adult and free to children 16 and younger.
