ART News:

Here in Northern New Mexico, the El Rito Studio Tour and Arts Festival is back for the 36th year!

This year, the Studio Tour will include 11 participating artist studios throughout the village that represent a diverse range of mediums and disciplines both contemporary and traditional. Visitors will be able to interact with working artists and visit the studios where work is created.

Along with the Studio Tour of artists living and working in El Rito, we’ve expanded to include a larger pool of artisan vendors from Northern New Mexico at this event. Stop One on the tour is El Mercado with over 30 artisan vendors, musicians and food vendors from neighboring villages.

The Mercado will be held on the historic Northern New Mexico College campus which has played an historic role in supporting the traditional arts and crafts of this area for generations.

Visitors will also be able to view weavings by current students and faculty of Northern New Mexico College’s Fiber Arts Program in an exhibit which will be held next to the Mercado on campus. Northern New Mexican traditional arts and crafts draw thousands of visitors to the village during the El Rito Studio Tour and Arts Festival each year.
