The community is invited to a student-led community forum 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 at the Los Alamos High School Speech Theater.

The purpose of this meeting is to give students the chance to be heard and for the community to be involved in the discussion about school safety.

All interested students, parents and community members are invited to join the round table discussions to engage in dialogue about what the district is currently doing and what can be done moving forward to make a difference in the safety of the Los Alamos Public Schools schools. Read More

Los Alamos Students Deliver Stellar Performance At State Speech And Debate State Tournament

The Los Alamos Hilltalkers and Hawktalkers Speech and Debate Teams earned top marks at the State Speech and Debate Tournament that was held at V Sue Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho.

Twenty seven schools competed from New Mexico, and although the competition was tough this year, both the high school and middle school Speech and Debate teams came out on top.

Daytime High School Equivalency Class At UNM-LA

UNM-LA News:

 

A new daytime High School Equivalency (HSE) class started Monday at the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos campus.

 

Classes will run from 1 to 3 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays and will be held in Building 7, Room B11 through June 14. Claudia Ress will be teaching the class.

 

There is no cost to students for the class which is sponsored by state and federal funds.

Students may join the class at any time during the 14 weeks.

Café Scientifique New Mexico is partnering with Los Alamos National Laboratory to host three special events for high school students in northern New Mexico to go behind the scenes and learn about the latest technology in emergency management careers.
