Letter To The Editor: SGR Endorses Christine Bernstein

By STEPHANIE GARCIA RICHARD
Commissioner of Public Lands

I voted today!

But unfortunately, because of my district, I didn’t get to vote for one of my favorite candidates for school board. However, if you live in District 3, you have the chance to vote for Christine Bernstein for LAPS School Board.

I first met Christine when we were both teachers at Pojoaque Schools. She is an innovative, committed and passionate high school teacher and I know she will bring just as much energy to the school board as she does to the classroom. I’ve witnessed her in action and seen the way she always

Letter To The Editor: I Believe We Are A Town That Values Education … Vote Yes For School Bond

By DAVID LYONS
Committee member
Los Alamos School Bond Election Committee

When my wife and I decided to move back to White Rock with our two young children more than a decade ago, I knew one thing for certain: Our kids would receive a great education. A White Rock native, I grew up in the Los Alamos Public School system, going first to Chamisa Elementary and then to the Middle and High Schools. I knew first-hand the high quality of education here and was excited to know that our kids would benefit from the same. And they have.

We’ve been fortunate that our kids have had great experiences all the way through Read More

Letter To The Editor: Pleasure To Support Bernstein

By TRAVIS RICHINS
LAHS Class of 2013

It is my pleasure to write in support of Chris Bernstein for a position on the Los Alamos Public School Board.

I attended Los Alamos school system from kindergarten to 12th grade, and ultimately graduated in May of 2013. During my time at Los Alamos High School I had the pleasure of getting to know Mrs. Bernstein, or Mrs. B as we called her.

I cannot over-stress the point that she was the most influential teacher in my high school years. She exhibits extraordinary passion while teaching, but more importantly, she cares for her students as people. She not only pays Read More

Iron Magma Could Explain Psyche Density Puzzle

UA News:

TUCSON, Ariz. — The metallic asteroid Psyche has mystified scientists because it is less dense than it should be.

Now, a new theory by researchers including scientists at the University of Arizona, could explain Psyche’s low density and metallic surface.
