When South opens the bidding with 1♦, North should get very excited, as the possibility of bidding a makeable slam is very real. A 5♦ response is very reasonable at this point, though if the partnership is playing 2/1, a 2♣ bid would force the partnership to game, leaving plenty of room to explore further.
Clearly 6♦ is cold, and the hand will make 7 unless West leads the ♥A.
