Due to hazardous weather conditions, Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne has ordered a full closure today, Dec. 14, for all non-essential County government employees.
County services and facilities are impacted:
- Atomic City Transit will provide limited dial-a-ride service as able until 5:30 p.m. Regular fixed-route service is canceled. To schedule a ride, call 505-661-RIDE (7433).
- Residential and commercial trash will be collected as usual.
- White Rock Overlook Convenience Center and the Eco Station are closed.
- The Aquatic Center, Ice Rink and Golf Course are closed, as well as all administrative and other County facilities.
County Traffic and Street crews will continue to clear the major roads and streets according to the FY23 Snow and Ice Control Plan.
The County’s MyDrive site allows individuals to view the conditions of major roadways within Los Alamos County. Users should click the intersection image to activate the live feed on YouTube.
Drivers are asked to slow down and be cautious of hazardous conditions if they are required to travel during the storm.
