Longtime Senior Center employee Robert Smith, here with former Los Alamos Retired and Senior Organization, (LARSO) Director Linda Boncella, is celebrating his final week with the senior centers. A drive by appreciation event is planned noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the lunch drive through at the Betty Ehart Senior Center, lower level. Community members are invited to drive by and hoot and holler, drop off cards or just wave farewell to Smith. Donations are being collected all week to purchase a retirement gift for Smith. ‘It is with deep gratitude and loving appreciation that we send off Robert into retirement, after 20 years of service with LARSO,’ LARSO Director Bernadette Lauritzen said. ‘Robert is and has been an essential person before and during COVID.’
