Don’t Miss a Thing With Library’s ‘Wowbrary’ Alerts

MPL News:

The Los Alamos County Library System is excited to offer its patrons free “Wowbrary” email alerts that showcase the library’s newest items ordered each week.

The alerts feature the latest bestsellers, movies, music CDs, audio books, children’s titles, cookbooks, mysteries, travel guides, health books, science fiction and more, purchased by the library.

It’s so easy to sign up. Go to www.wowbrary.org to sign up or learn more. You’ll get emails each Saturday listing all the new items ordered so you can place a hold right away for your favorites.

“This is a great new way to enjoy and use your public library more,” said Electronic Resources Manager Gwen Kalavaza. “People are truly amazed when they see in one place just how many great new titles we order each week, which they can reserve and borrow at no cost. And we cover all age groups and many diverse interests.”

The new Wowbrary alerts are extremely convenient and quickly show what’s new and whether an item is checked out or not at both Mesa and White Rock, all from the convenience of one’s home, work, or school computer, Kalavaza said.

The alerts help those interested in specific topics, Children’s Librarian Angie Manfredi said.

“It only takes a mouse click to see the newest arrivals appropriate for your child or teen. There’s a separate section on parenting. Teachers can quickly spot new resources for their classes,” she said.

Wowbrary alerts are free and do not require a library card. Go to www.wowbrary.org to sign up or learn more.

The Los Alamos County Library System serves a population of 18,000 and has almost 15,000 registered cardholders. Including print, online, and other collections, the libraries have more than 175,000 materials in a variety of formats available for checkout.
