DNCU Sponsors Inaugural ‘LEGO Competition’

SANTA FE—Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU) is proud to support the inaugural Lego Competition at the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association Home Show, taking place March 14-15 at the Santa Fe Convention Center.

DNCU believes this is an ideal way to help energize the attendees—while helping young children build an appreciation for the construction process. DNCU also is a Silver Sponsor of the Santa Fe Home Show.

The competition is divided into two age categories (8 and younger and 9-12) and will run each day of the Santa Fe Home Show (20 participants each session for a total of 80 potential competitors). Participants can create anything they can imagine—with terrific prizes that include cash as well as a family membership to the Santa Fe Children’s Museum.

“We are pleased to provide the funding for the first Lego Competition. Getting families excited for the Santa Fe Home Show and challenging creativity is a wonderful way to engage the community,” says DNCU CEO/President Chuck Valenti.

Each child also will receive a goodie bag care of DNCU. And DNCU’s kids mascot Baxter Bear will be on site to encourage the Lego builders.

“It’s never too early to inspire kids to the idea of home building,” says Kim Shanahan, executive officer, SFAHBA. “We are excited to offer this activity and can’t wait to see the creativity of our local kiddos,” adds June Scott, adminstrative director, SFAHBA.

All children are eligible to participate in the competition, and flyers will be sent home in Santa Fe Public School elementary school folders closer to the competition date. Children’s work will be judged based on originality and presentation.
