DNCU News:

SANTA FE—Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU), Northern New Mexico’s hometown financial cooperative, is proud to continue its partnership with Canyon Road Contemporary Art, with a second art installation at the DNCU Cordova  branch. The exhibit features works by Mark Horst, a figurative artist who creates poetic works that convey a vintage appeal.

DNCU is pleased to showcase Horst’s works at the Cordova branch under the DNCU North Star Artist program. This installation marks the eighth exhibit in the program, and is a terrific addition to the range of talent seen since 2013 at the DNCU branches. Horst’s oil paintings feature an altering color-light scheme that suggest times gone by.

“I love old photos for what they leave out, their faded, blurred images,” Horst said.

Working from photos, he says his method is to attempt to somewhat destroy the precise image to create one that evokes incompleteness.

“The world is never finished and the joy of seeing it is never complete,” he said.

“Our members are really going to enjoy the artistry and sensitivity of Mark’s paintings. It’s a wonderful exhibit to welcome the spring season at the DNCU Cordova branch,” said Chuck Valenti, Del Norte Credit Union President/CEO.

Horst’s pieces are available for purchase through Canyon Road Contemporary Art.
