IN THE COMMUNITY:

International Volunteer Day: Whenever possible, our staff volunteer on the weekends or outside of office hours to benefit our community. As we near the end of 2022 we created a highlight reel with some of the events we have volunteered for in honor of International Volunteer Day Dec. 5. We look forward to more community-based events in 2023! Courtesy/DA Raúl Torrez

Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Public Safety Luncheon: Dec. 7, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Public Safety Luncheon marked the fifth time Bernalillo County District Attorney Raul Torrez has presented as the keynote speaker. We thank all who attended to learn more about our public safety efforts and legislative proposals. Courtesy/DA Raúl Torrez

New Mexico Chamber of Commerce Fireside Chat: Dec. 8, Bernalillo County District Attorney Raul Torrez spoke to members of the New Mexico Chamber of Commerce about organized retail crime, which affects businesses, employees and shoppers. Through effective legislation and participation during the legislative session, we can help alleviate organized retail crime’s negative impact on all New Mexicans. Courtesy/DA Raúl Torrez

Guns to Gardens Gun Buyback: Thank you to our partners, New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence, Fiesta Auto Group, Albuquerque Police Department, and La Mesa Presbyterian Church for another successful gun buyback event Dec. 9! We collected more than 180 unwanted firearms. Our grant specialist Gloria Ortiz talks more about the partnership and importance of this event in the video below. Courtesy/DA Raúl Torrez

Ciudad de Gracia Christmas Store: This Christmas our employees came together to donate toys to Ciudad de Gracia, a church in the International District, for their Christmas store. Ciudad de Gracia has partnered with our office’s federal grant to help support the International District here in Albuquerque. We want to thank all of our employees and other members of the public for making this Christmas store a success and providing access for every child to have a great Christmas.
