PEEC News:
Learn what will be coming up in the night sky during the month of May this Friday evening at the Los Alamos Nature Center planetarium.
Paul Arendt will lead an interactive tour of the heavens highlighting the planets, star patterns and constellations that may be readily observed throughout the month. The talk begins at 6 p.m., Friday, May 10 and is perfect for beginner stargazers who want to learn more.
In addition to this talk, the nature center will show its newest full-dome film “EXPLORE” at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 11. The story dives into a broad selection of scientific topics in a modern and accessible way and revolves around the ambition to colonize Mars. The film also shows how the achievements of individuals can change the world by looking at the example of Johannes Kepler and his three laws of planetary motions.
Seating is limited for both of these events, so please call the nature center at 505.662.0460 or stop by to reserve your tickets. Admission for both programs is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Events in the planetarium are not recommended for children under age 4.
