PEEC News:
The community is invited to visit the Los Alamos Nature Center at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, for a viewing of the One Sky Project, a fulldome planetarium film. One Sky is a collection of beautiful short films about constellations, astronomical instruments, and scientific knowledge from various cultures around the world. Each chapter is presented in an original and engaging way with its own artistic style featuring the work of international artists. Tickets for this program are $8 for adults and $6 for students and children. Planetarium shows are not recommended for children under 5.
The constellation known as Orion is one of the most recognized patterns in our night sky. However, people around the world had different and unique stories about these same stars. This film consists of six perspectives of different cultures or Indigenous societies from around the world. The creators organized these stories around the themes of finding patterns and developing tools. Visit the following link to learn more about this project, oneskyproject.org.
